FOR ACTORS

Time is a cruel taskmaster; it flays with a whip of years. At last, it steals the thunder of the heart. Memories outlive everything, colored and shaped
by the mind's eye of each beholder. In this is the magic and the mystery.

Actors are the least likely to be seen in any true light, even by themselves. They are the multi-layered projections of a hundred concepts. Each role adds another mask. Sometimes it sticks to the face. The actor struggles to tear it free, replace it with another, but always some layer of the one beneath remains, imprinting a texture of feelings. and always the roles keep changing-- another illusion, as though a painter had painted a canvas over and over, but always something of the painting underneath shows through. Gradually true identity is blurred in the minds of his audience, and in the actor's own mind. He becomes the reflection of many images. And even his closest friends can scarcely see the man.

They say that a man is not judged by how much he loves, but by how much he is loved by others. Always remember that great men are not born, they are created. As an artist our emotions are not our weakness, they are our greatest strength. Be true to yourself and you will achieve perfection and greatness.
